Neve recording and mixing console

MIXING

We mix using a hybrid system. We combine the power and convenience of ProTools HDX with analog summing through our custom transformer balanced, discrete Neve console filled with 1073/6673 equalizers. From there we can add hardware compression to the drums and master bus, as well as individual channel. Finally we sweeten the sound with a pair of Iron Age Audio LH95 EQs (based on the Siemens W295b) before feeding the mix back into ProTools, where we use plugins as needed for more surgical precision. This method is a great compromise between being able to recall mixes quickly while still getting the benefits of high-end analog processing and summing.

STEM MASTERING

We offer stem mastering which is in between a full mix and mastering of a stereo mix. You send us up to 8 stereo stems, ie. drums, percussion, bass, guitar, synths / keys, vocals, background vocals, effects. We'll process and blend your stems and then master the stereo mix. This is a great choice if you're confident you have your mix most of the way there but need to take it to the next level.

MASTERING

Our mastering chain is program material dependent but often not dissimilar to our mixing chain. We'll process your song through analog EQs and compressors and finalize with plugins including multi-band compression, de-essing, precision equalizing, limiting, etc.
